It’s an ambitious mission, and we couldn’t achieve it without the help of the following organizations. This list includes fire departments, ocean rescue services, beaches, cities, towns, and counties, and each one is committed to protecting its citizens and visitors through the latest in water rescue technology. Galveston’s beaches are among the most challenging in the country for lifeguards. The diverse beach population often has little or no beach experience, and strong lateral currents coupled with rock jetties is a dangerous mix. The Galveston Island Beach Patrol is among the top agencies in the country.
One reason people come to Port Aransas is to enjoy the 6.3 miles of beach along the warm waters of the Gulf of Mexico. Under the Parks and Recreation Department, Port Aransas Beach Guards oversee the beach area between Avenue G and Sandcastle Drive from the beginning of Spring Break through Labor Day.

East Hampton Volunteer Ocean Rescue
East Hampton Volunteer Ocean Rescue (EHVOR) has been responding to water emergencies, 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, since 2003. They safeguard thousands of swimmers each year in Open Water Swims and Triathlons in the Town of East Hampton.

Ocean Grove, New Jersey Lifeguards
Ocean Grove offers relief from the crowds, commercialism, and noise of other New Jersey beaches. The charming downtown is only two short blocks from the boardwalk convenient for a quick bite, early shopping, and your accommodations. Located in Monmouth County, this is a nice place to just enjoy the sand, sun, and waves.

Hilton Head Island Beach Patrol
Shore Beach Service provides year-round beach patrol for the entire 13.5 miles of beach on Hilton Head Island. During the peak summer season, our patrol consists of more than sixty lifeguards, (at various locations in areas indicated in the map below), seven red trucks marked “Beach Patrol,” and two red ATVs.
Kiawah Island boasts 10 miles of pristine beach and is comprised of two areas commonly referred to as East Beach and West Beach. Besides the many private beach accesses available to property owners, Beachwalker County Park, located on the west end (West Beach) of Kiawah Island, offers ocean frontage and a river view, along with the only public beach access on beautiful Kiawah Island.

Kauai Ocean Safety & Kauai Fire Dept.
The Water Safety Operation Bureau promotes prevention and safety awareness to all persons who frequent our beaches and provides in-services training for staff and public entities. The Water Safety Operation’s primary concerns is to educate tourists and local residents of dangers that could occur while visiting beach locations.
St. Johns County Fire Dept., FL
Since 1933 St. Johns County has been providing superior lifesaving services on the county’s beaches to residents and visitors alike. The Marine Rescue Section is an Advanced Certified Agency through the United States Lifesaving Association and is home to the the Lifeguard and Junior Lifeguard programs.
The Parks and Recreation department makes the quality of life for Palm Beach County residents and visitors better by providing diverse, safe and affordable recreation services, welcoming parks, and enriching social and cultural experiences. We achieve this by promoting wellness, fostering environmental stewardship, contributing economic value, and by improving our community every day for this and future generations.
Atlantic Beach Fire Department, NC
The mission of the Fire Department is to provide protection of life and property to the citizens and visitors of the Town of Atlantic Beach from the adverse effects of fire, medical emergencies and dangerous conditions, either man-made or natural.
Wrightsville Beach Ocean Rescue
The fire department’s Ocean Rescue Squad is responsible for ensuring public safety on the beach strand. The squad is led by an Ocean Rescue Director and a Lifeguard Captain who are also full-time firefighters/EMTs. The Ocean Rescue Squad employs 28 seasonal lifeguards from Memorial Day through Labor Day.
Sunny Santa Cruz is a throwback to the traditional beach boardwalk and a gateway to California’s other family-friendly attractions. It’s even been designated a World Surfing Reserve.
The Borough of Ship Bottom, NJ
The Ship Bottom Beach Patrol is responsible for the overall safety of our residents and visitors on our beaches. Beach Patrol personnel are trained in accordance with the United States Lifesaving Association (USLA) guidelines for Open Water Lifeguards, which includes certification in American Red Cross CPR/AED for the Professional Rescuer, Standard First Aid, and Administering Emergency Oxygen.
